Safety, friendships and caring connections are part of the ‘new normal’ at Hamilton Village Care Centre
On May 15th, Hamilton Village Care Centre welcomed the first Resident and since that day, we have continued to grow and celebrate the arrival of more Residents into the home. “It is a new time for all of us” says Melissa Bawtinheimer, General Manager for Hamilton Village, “and we appreciate everyone’s support and understanding. We are surrounded by a kind, caring community and we look forward to making local connections soon.” However, our focus has been on safety and we are moving cautiously and carefully following COVID prevention standards to protect the wellbeing of everyone involved.
We certainly wish everyone could visit and experience Hamilton Village Care Centre as it is a beautiful purpose-built home. We are including a few photos in this posting to give a glimpse at what we hope to be able to show in person to you soon. Once families and visitors are able to safely join in, we know that our bistro and outdoor patios will become favourite places for enjoying time together and taking in the beauty of nature.
Lia Linnen, Care Manager, confirms that “This is a challenging time and it would be great to have family and visitors here. However, I am impressed by how the human spirit of resilience, creativity and hope brings strength to all of us at Hamilton Village.” What we are seeing is that new friendships are forming to help bridge the gap and create new connections together. Residents certainly miss the face-to-face time with their families and friends and we are thankful for technology.
Connecting virtually has been hugely helpful for some Residents while others have enjoyed the ‘looks and waves’ through the window. We invite you to celebrate these connections as being much more than small moments. They are powerful and meaningful and have resulted in new friendships, shared laughter and creative connections together.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
